SMK Adds New Multi-Pin Models to Coaxial Connectors

SMK Corporation has introduced multi-pin variations of MH-2 Series small coaxial connectors. Specifically, these new models allow the connection between cables of two different diameters – 1.5D and 2.5D. Now, the expanded series includes the newly developed 2-pin and 4-pin, on top of the 1-pin type the company introduced in 2021. With these lineups, SMK provides solutions for a wide range of requirements, focusing primarily on automotive applications.

In recent years, the number of automotive devices, like cameras and antennas, has increased with the advancement of automobiles. At the same time, the progress in improving image resolution and pixel density resulted in a rapid increase in data transmission volume. In response to this trend, the demand is growing for connectors that offer space-efficient designs and support the use of thicker-diameter cables to enhance transmission performance.

Specifically, the MH-2 Series offers the ability to connect cables with different diameters by standardizing the housing. In addition, it provides excellent high-frequency performance for high-speed transmission. Moreover, the newly added multi-pin types allow for the simultaneous connection of multiple cables. As a result, it improves assembly efficiency and reduces the space required in the final products.

These coaxial connector series are designed for automotive devices, like cameras, antennas, ECUs, IVIs. Also, they are suitable for industrial equipment, robots, and medical equipment.
