Rigaku Expands Taiwan Presence, Opens New Office

Rigaku Corporation has recently announced the opening of its new Rigaku Taiwan Branch (RCTW). Accordingly, the expansion marks a significant milestone in Rigaku’s longstanding commitment to advancing the semiconductor electronics, life, and material science ecosystem.

Most importantly, the company considers having a presence in Taiwan as a strategic move as the region plays a critical role in technological advancement.

Brings Closer R&D, Manufacturing Know-How

Technical support offered by RCTW underscores the company’s dedication to better serve its Taiwanese customers. Furthermore, it aims to strengthen collaborative efforts in semiconductor development with strategic foundry and high-volume production fabs and other critical sectors. Particularly, these include industries such as biotech, pharmaceutical, chemistry, universities, and other academic industries.

Dr. Kiyoshi Ogata, Senior Executive Vice President and General Manager of Rigaku Corporation, said, “Rigaku has been serving semiconductor customers in Taiwan for many years. With the new fast-paced technology innovations, the need to work side by side with customers is ever greater.”

Moreover, Ogata highlights the significance of RCTW. Particularly, in facilitating closer collaboration. Thus, enabling technical teams to work alongside customers seamlessly. Moreover, the office provides Taiwanese customers a sense of proximity to Rigaku R&D and manufacturing in Japan.

Sam Chao, President of the Greater China Semiconductor and Metrology Division will lead the new Taiwan and China organization. Most importantly, Chao has more than 30 years of experience in the semiconductor industry and capital equipment in the APAC market.

Eyes New Technical Center

As part of Rigaku’s commitment to Taiwan, additional plans are underway to establish the Rigaku Taiwan Technical Center. Accordingly, the center will feature demonstration facilities and state-of-the-art laboratories, aimed at accelerating development processes and providing faster turnaround times for customers. Chao expressed enthusiasm about deepening working relationships with Taiwanese customers through this initiative.

By establishing a stronger presence in Taiwan, Rigaku aims to enhance collaboration and drive technological advancements. Ultimately, to contribute to the growth and success of its customers in the region.
