UVJC to Unveil NovaJet for Precision Chip Manufacturing

Universal Vapor Jet Corporation (UVJC), a wholly owned subsidiary of Universal Display Corporation (UDC), is preparing to introduce its first commercial manufacturing system, NovaJet, at the WESEMiBAY Semiconductor Ecosystem Conference and Expo in Shenzhen, China, scheduled for October 14-16, 2026.

The launch marks the company’s first appearance at a major trade event and highlights growing industry interest in alternative manufacturing technologies as semiconductor producers move beyond traditional scaling approaches.

Built on UVJC’s proprietary Universal Vapor Jet Printing (UVJP) platform, NovaJet is designed to provide manufacturers with a dry, solvent-free and maskless approach to thin-film deposition. The company will showcase a scale model of the system at Booth 8G03, alongside coated substrates and printed samples produced at its Singapore headquarters and research facility.

Industry Looks Beyond Conventional Scaling

As semiconductor devices become increasingly complex, manufacturers are seeking technologies that offer greater precision, flexibility and process control. Industry trends such as advanced packaging, sophisticated device architectures and emerging material systems are driving demand for new deposition methods that can address manufacturing challenges more effectively.

UVJC positions UVJP as a solution that enables digitally patterned thin-film deposition through a dry vapor-phase process. According to the company, the technology allows functional materials to be placed directly onto substrates while reducing processing steps commonly associated with solvents, masks, drying procedures and lithography-based techniques.

The process also operates without substrate heating. As a result, it can be used on delicate, non-planar and temperature-sensitive surfaces, broadening its potential manufacturing applications.

NovaJet Aims to Bridge Research and Production

UVJC says NovaJet is intended to help organizations move more efficiently from materials research to production-scale manufacturing. The company believes the platform can support a range of industries beyond semiconductors, including electronics, life sciences and renewable energy.

“NovaJet is an important step in bringing UVJP closer to real-world manufacturing,” said Chandran Nair, Chief Executive Officer of UVJC. “We look forward to introducing this advanced system to customers, partners and researchers attending WESEMiBAY, and discussing how UVJP can support a more precise, flexible and efficient path from materials research through manufacturing.”

The company also noted that the technology can support multiple materials and graded compositions in a single process step, creating opportunities for a wider range of advanced manufacturing applications.

Technical Presentation to Highlight Future Applications

During the event, Chandran Nair and Li Jiafan, UVJC’s Head of Business Development in China, will deliver a conference presentation titled “Enabling Dry and Patterned Thin-Film Printing for Next-Generation Manufacturing” on October 15. The session will provide attendees with a deeper understanding of UVJP technology and its potential uses across semiconductor and advanced electronics manufacturing.

Established in 2024 and headquartered in Singapore, UVJC focuses on developing tools and processes that connect laboratory innovation with industrial-scale production. Through its Universal Vapor Jet Printing platform, the company aims to deliver scalable solutions that address increasing industry requirements for manufacturing precision, efficiency and sustainability.
