Unique Rockwell Tool To Offer Better Industrial Safety

Industrial automation company Rockwell Automation has introduced the Logix SIS, a cutting-edge safety instrumented system (SIS). Specifically, the new platform aims to address the evolving needs of modern industrial environments.

With the new portfolio, Rockwell is building on its industry-leading safety technology portfolio to propel the advancement of manufacturing automation and digital transformation.

Targets Highest Safety Levels

The introduction of the Logix SIS from Rockwell Automation provides a modern and integrated safety solution. Specifically, offering both SIL 2 and SIL 3 certifications for enhanced process and hybrid safety. Moreover, Logix SIS provides all components of a safety instrumented system including the process logic-solver and I/O.

Rockwell Automation has engineered the system to provide high availability with proven Rockwell Automation hardware. It leverages the latest 1756 controller, FLEX 5000® I/O platform, and Studio 5000 Logix Designer® application. Therefore, providing a truly integrated user experience.

“Logix SIS represents a significant step forward. Thus, offering exceptional flexibility for process and hybrid safety applications. Moreover, it leverages our proven hardware to target the highest safety levels,” said Dan DeYoung, vice president, product management, Rockwell Automation.

In addition, DeYoung said, “Its intuitive interface, consistent with our other solutions, minimizes complexity and empowers partners to deliver high-level safety solutions.”

Key Capabilities of Logix SIS:

Particularly, the Logix SIS system offers modern SIL 2 and SIL 3 solutions. Hence, delivering comprehensive safety across a wide range of industrial applications.

In addition, it offers high availability safety to deliver continuous operation for critical processes.

The system also streamlines implementation by leveraging familiar hardware and software. Moreover, it reduces engineering time to maximize efficiency through simplified design and configuration. It also offers system upgrade without requiring planned downtime.

Logix SIS will be available for order from September 2024. Moreover, attendees at Automation Fair® 2024 in Anaheim, California will have an exclusive opportunity to witness the system in action. At the same time, visitors will be able to learn about its transformative capabilities.

Later on, the system will be available through Rockwell Automation distribution channels that provide convenient access to customers worldwide.
