Robust Demand in Automotives and AI Servers

Particularly, the hybrid capacitors for production are aluminum electrolytic capacitors with low ESR characteristics, stable temperature characteristics, high heat resistance, and long life.

In recent years, its use in automobiles, which are becoming increasingly electronic and electrified, has been rapidly expanding. Also, it is expected that its use in communication base stations and AI servers will further advance in the future. Accordingly, there has been an urgent need to establish a system to increase production.

Against this backdrop, it started production at the company’s two bases in Japan (Note 1). Additionally, it started production at its local subsidiary in Taiwan (Note 2) in April 2023. Since then, the company has continued to expand production lines. Furthermore, by starting operations at the new manufacturing building, Nippon Chemi-Con plans to expand the company-wide production capacity of hybrid capacitors to 100 million units per month by FY2028. Particularly, this is double the production capacity in FY2023.

Moreover, the new manufacturing building will be a two-story building with a total floor area of 11,930sq.m and a total construction cost of approximately 5 billion yen (building part only).

Integration of Automation and IoT Technologies

Further, it will be operated as a smart factory that brings together the automation and IoT technologies that the company has accumulated so far.

In the future, Nippon Chemi-Con will continue to strive to further improve quality and production efficiency, and to meet the expectations of its customers.
