MCG Puts up New Japan Plant for Chip Cleaning

Shinryo Corporation, a member of the Mitsubishi Chemical Group (MCG), will strengthen its semiconductor precision cleaning business in Japan. Particularly, it will establish a new plant in Fukushima Prefecture and expand its Iwate Plant for semiconductor precision cleaning. This initiative aims to increase Shinryo’s capacity for cleaning parts, including those used in semiconductor manufacturing equipment. Both plants are scheduled to begin operations in October 2026.

Precision cleaning process

MCG’s semiconductor precision cleaning business provides parts cleaning services to manufacturers of semiconductor manufacturing equipment and semiconductor devices. Particularly, the precision cleaning technology of MCG Group removes nano-scale contaminants, such as particles (dust and dirt) and metal impurities with precision and modifies part surfaces as needed. Accordingly, this contributes to higher semiconductor production yields and to reduced wastage of parts and environmental impact. In addition to used parts, it also cleans newly produced parts to help minimize initial operational failures in semiconductor manufacturing equipment.

Clean room for precision cleaning

In response to the recent growth of the semiconductor market and the resultant increase in demand for parts cleaning, the company has decided to expand its parts cleaning capacity.

Specifically, the new Fukushima Plant and the expanded Iwate Plant will start operations in October 2026.
