Toyoda Gosei Co., Ltd.’s Indian subsidiary Toyoda Gosei Minda India Pvt. Ltd. will enhance the production capacity at its headquarters plant. Particularly, the capacity expansion of its Neemrana Plant aims to meet the growing demand for airbags as safety regulations become stricter in India.
To illustrate, the need for driver and passenger side airbags for frontal collisions are increasing on vehicles in India. The use of side and curtain airbags to protect vehicle occupants for side collisions will likely expand as well.
Thus, to meet the accompanying growth in demand, Toyoda Gosei Minda India will expand its Neemrana plant and install airbag production equipment.
Toyoda Gosei considers India, where automobile production is increasing and remains a crucial market. For that reason, the company has built up an optimum production and development network in the northern, western and southern parts of India. Toyoda Gosei’s Neemrana Plant has a building area of 21,000sq.m. After expansion plans, this will increase to 35,000sq. m. Moreover, the said plant, which has an investment value of 2.2 billion yen, employs about 1,100 people.
