USI Expands Capacity, Breaks Ground New Factory

USI, a leading electronic and SiP manufacturing company, marked a significant milestone with the groundbreaking ceremony for its second factory in Poland. Accordingly, several industry and government leaders attended the event. Among them, Agencja Rozwoju Przemysłu, Kobierzyce Mayor Office, Polish Investment and Trade Agency (PAIH), and BOSCH.

Moreover, representatives from Demant, DIEHL Metering, Honeywell, LSEV Poland, ERBUD, JP Weber, 2MPM and Industrias Alegre Poland, also attended the event. The ceremony took place in Kobierzyce and symbolizes the increasing demand of the European market for the company.

“I would like to congratulate you for picking this place for the second factory,” stated the Mayor of Kobierzyce, Mr. Ryszard Pacholik. “It is one of the best choices for you and investors. I can guarantee that the infrastructure here will be even more developed in the future because of you and future investors.”

Propels Investments

Joining in the celebration, the Managing Director responsible for Direct Investments in PAIH, Mr. Marcin Fabianowicz, expressed his enthusiasm, saying, “We hope that the presence of such an important investor for the industry as USI, and its direct association with the Taiwanese holding company ASE Technology, will attract further investments to Poland and contribute to the development of the electronics and semiconductor industries, the key sectors for the Polish, European, and global economies.”
During the ceremony, the symbolic turning of the soil was performed by notable guests, including the Mayor of Kobierzyce, Mr. Ryszard Pacholik, and the Managing Director responsible for Direct Investments, Mr. Marcin Fabianowicz, along with key representatives from USI, the Chairman of USI Poland and SVP of USI Inc., Mr. Brian Shih, shared his excitement, stating, “I am proud to be part of this groundbreaking ceremony, which signifies our dedication to providing high-quality products and services to our customers. The new factory will strengthen our manufacturing capabilities and enable us to meet the increasing demand for EV and green energy solutions in the European market.”

Echoing these sentiments, Executive Director of USI Poland and EVP of Asteelflash, Mr. Felix Timmermann, added, “Today, we are proud to be creating a milestone for USI’s / AFG’s customer service, showing our commitment to providing even better support in Poland and Europe. We strengthen our readiness to support our customer’s manufacturing and reshoring efforts and ensure we put our best foot forward for our customers. We are confident that this new business will unlock our potential here and will be the start of something great.”

Advanced Technology, Machinery

The new factory is expected to create up to 1,000 job opportunities for the local community, contributing to the economic development of Kobierzyce. Equipped with advanced technology and machinery, the factory will bolster USI’s manufacturing capabilities and enable the company to deliver high-quality products and services.

USI anticipates that the new factory will be fully operational by the first quarter of 2024. This expansion will significantly increase USI’s production capacity in Poland, allowing the company to better serve its customers and meet the growing demand in the market.
