Kawamura Electric Industrial Co., Ltd. is set to begin the operations of its new facility in Koriyama City in Japan’s Fukushima on April 1. Accordingly, the new factory is the company’s seventh domestic base in Japan and the first in Tohoku region.
Kawamura Electric has shelled ¥11 billion of investments in the new factory, which has an area of 39,004sq.m.
The two-story steel-frame building consists of three buildings. First, the main factory building, then a welfare building called “AQURIO”. Meanwhile, the third building is a laboratory called LABO.
Primarily, the new factory will supply its mainstay high-voltage power receiving and substation equipment and distribution panels mainly to the Tohoku region. At the same time, it will also conduct research in energy-related technologies aimed at a decarbonized society in its laboratory building.
In Japan, several international events are set to take place in the coming years, add to this the sprawling infrastructure projects and massive transportation systems. Thus, these developments are likely to propel the construction of commercial facilities such as hotels, which in turn will spur demands for electric equipment switchboards.
For that reason, the company has initiated the construction of the new factory. In fact, this will also augment the capacity of its existing Akatsuki Factory in Seto City as well as the production of it its plant in China.
Aside from achieving 100 percent renewable energy, the LABO building will also demonstrate breakthrough in electric vehicles, storage batteries, and other energy-related products.
Meanwhile, with the new factory, the company expects to increase production capacity by about 20 to 30 percent from 2030.
Kawamura has been consistently focusing on upgrading capacity and performance of electric circuits. For example, from high pressure equipment to fire prevention outlets, it was able to create values for any electric circuit. Moreover, the products the company deliver to the world have passed Japan’s strict quality standard.
