Azbil to Meet Demand Surge With New Thai Plant

Azbil Corporation has officially opened a new factory building at Azbil Production (Thailand) Co., Ltd. Accordingly, the new manufacturing subsidiary in Chonburi province will reinforce the company’s business prowess overseas.

The new plant building is a three-story structure with a building area of 6069 square meters. Furthermore, the total floor area is 15,064 square meters. The investment amount is 391 million baht (approximately 1.5 billion yen).

Currently, Azbil Production (Thailand) will produce industrial temperature controllers and sensors for air conditioning controllers. Moreover, it will serve as a production and direct shipping base for products to Southeast and East Asian countries.

The new factory building will house a new production line that efficiently arranges large-scale processing, assembly, painting, inspection, and shipping of electromagnetic flowmeters and other products. Azbil will launch the processes sequentially and will install automated equipment.

Strengthens Three-Pillar Production Base

In June last year, Azbil announced plans to construct a factory in Thailand. Particularly, the company said the said facility will expand further its global production base.

The new building will strengthen the company’s production capacity and increase the variety of items it produces. The purpose is to meet an expected increase in demand as the Azbil Group’s overseas business grows. At the same time, also to meet the needs of the Group’s overseas customers for various products that require advanced production technology, such as electromagnetic flowmeters and differential pressure transmitters for the industrial market.

The Azbil Group established in 1994 its first overseas production base, the Azbil Control Instruments (Dalian), in China. Next, it established Azbil Production (Thailand) in 2013 to expand overseas production capacity.

In addition, to further the development and automation of advanced production technology, Azbil began in 2019 full-scale operation of its “mother factory”. It consisted of the Shonan Factory linked with the Fujisawa Technology Center R&D base. Thus, strengthening its three-pillar global production system in Japan, China, and Thailand.

Azbil’s overseas production ratio has continued to increase since 2010 and will likely reach the mid-30% range by 2025.

With its philosophy of human-centered automation, the Azbil Group develops and provides products and services that meet customers’ needs. Hence, contributing to the betterment of society.
