Nippon Light Metal Co., Ltd. and Nikkei Panel System Co., Ltd. have completed the construction of the Shimonoseki Second Plant in Japan’s Yamaguchi prefecture. Accordingly, the purpose of the new plant is to increase the production of Nikkei Panel’s capacity.
Specifically, it will boost the company’s flagship product, the non-fluorocarbon heat insulating noncombustible panels.
The companies recently held opening ceremony to the new facility.
Officials from the two companies and of the local government graced the opening ceremony, which kicked off with the cutting of ribbon. Yamaguchi prefecture Vice Governor Hirayaya and Mayor Maeda of Shimonoseki City led the guests.
Afterwards, there was a tour of the main factory, which will soon begin operations. In addition, Nikkei Panel President Toshio Yanagimoto and Mayor Maeda gave their respective speeches. During the speech, Yanagimoto discussed various topics, including the future vision of the business through collaboration between Shimonoseki City and the company.
The new factory will manufacture and supply non-freon, heat-insulating, non-flammable panels. Accordingly, these flagship products will help realize high-level clean rooms in the semiconductor industry. Moreover, it will also reduce energy consumption for air conditioning through their insulating effects.
“Our company’s mission statement is ‘For a prosperous life and a vibrant planet’ and we will continue to contribute to technological innovation in the semiconductor industry,” said Yanagimoto.
In addition, Yanagimoto also underscored the efforts toward a decarbonized society through our flame-resistant insulation panels.
