COMPUTEX 2024 to Soar Computing High in AI Era

COMPUTEX 2024 opens its door Tuesday (June 4), harping the latest innovations in and around artificial intelligence. In fact, its encompassing theme during the four-day event, Connecting AI, will give weight on the latest technology trends.

Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) and the Taipei Computer Association (TCA) are organizers of the annual event, which is among the world’s important trade show for the ICT and related industries.

Huang Chairman of TAITRA said AI has reached a significant milestone already that represents a major shift in humanity. “For the first time, humans has created another form of intelligence. That is why we are here today (at COMPUTEX 2024) to dream create and empower society as never been possible,” said Huang during the global press conference ahead of the opening day.

Computing at Core of AI

Most importantly, at the core of AI is computing, which Huang said has pushed “technological renaissance”. Moreover, he said, the world now is currently in a monumental shift and underscored the importance of COMPUTEX 2024 as the industry’s gateway to the future of computing.

“Computing power is the most important key in the AI era. Taiwan has a complete AI ecosystem and rich talent resources, attracting customers from around the world to find ideal partners. COMPUTEX is committed to computing innovations, giving people unprecedented possibilities.”

In addition, Huang said, “COMPUTEX is more than just a tradeshow, it is the heartbeat of computing, and we are just about to witness technological renaissance…Let’s make history together.”

Meanwhile, Paul S.L. Peng, Chairman of the Taipei Computer Association, said, “Taiwan’s ICT industry has a proven track record of over 40 years of R&D experience and professional reputation. International buyers today agree that we are among the most efficient, reliable, and trustworthy partner, as well as the best choice for building Gen AI solutions globally.”

Groundbreaking Exhibition, Forums

COMPUTEX 2024 will occupy Halls 1 and 2 of the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center. Peng said this year’s edition will have 1,500 exhibitors from around the world, using 4,500 booths. The organizers expect to attract 50,000 overseas and local visitors. 

This year’s COMPUTEX 2024 will give weight on innovative milestones in Generative AI technology. In fact, it will feature six major themes: AI Computing; Advanced Connectivity; Future Mobility; Immersive Reality; Sustainability; and Innovations. In addition, three groundbreaking exhibition areas will also take spotlight this year. These are AI Computing & System Integration; Components and Battery Energy Storage; and Smart Mobility.

AMD Chairman and CEO, Dr. Lisa Su delivered the first keynote speech, kicking off exciting show activities. More speakers include Qualcomm President and CEO Cristiano Amon, Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger, MediaTek Vice Chairman and CEO Dr. Rick Tsai, and Supermicro President and CEO Charles Liang. Moreover, NXP Semiconductors Lars Reger, EVP and CTO, Dr. Tzi-cker Chiueh, General Director of Delta Research Center, and other global industry leaders will also share trends and insights in the AI field. Among other major companies that will take spotlight this year are Gigabyte, Acer, Micro-Star, ASUS, G.Skill, Pro Gamersware, and ASUS TECHNOLOGY are among them. In addition, KIOXIA, ASRock, Quanta, Intel, Thermaltake, In Win, Realtek, Cooler Master, BenQ, Industrial Technology Research Institute, and TADA will also attend COMPUTEX 2024.
