More recently, Japanese robot manufacturer Nachi-Fujikoshi Corp. has launched the CMZ12 collaborative robot model under the CMZ Series.
Industry Background
Against the backdrop of the declining global workforce and increasing labor costs, the introduction of collaborative robots that can work with people and promote space-saving and flexible production lines is rapidly progressing in the manufacturing field.
On the other hand, collaborative robots generally operate at slower speeds and are less productive than humans and non-collaborative robots. Thus, it is important to achieve both safety and high speed, as well as further high accuracy.
Company’s Response
In August 2023, Nachi-Fujikoshi launched CMZ05 by utilizing the design cultivated in small robots over the years. Specifically, CMZ05 is a high-speed, high-precision, and safe small collaborative robot. It has contributed to the improvement of productivity in manufacturing fields.
In response to the demands of customers in a wide range of industries, the company has added the CMZ12. Specifically, this collaborative robot model features a larger payload capacity of 12kg and a longer reach than CMZ05. Meanwhile, it maintains the high speed, high accuracy, and excellent safety features. With the class-leading performance of CMZ12, the company can incorporate the automation needs of its customers.
Going forward, Nachi Fujikoshi will continue to expand the CMZ series lineup and increase its market share.
Features of CMZ12 Collaborative Robot
① Top-class high speed and high accuracy in collaborative robots
The lightweight and highly rigid design cultivated through the development of small robots achieves class-leading high speed and high accuracy as a collaborative robot.
・Maximum speed: 1,000mm/sec (Collaborative): 3,000mm/sec(Non-collaborative)
・Position repeatability:±0.025mm
② Excellent safety
The company ensures the safety of workers by the shape design that meets global safety standards* and minimizes the risk of getting caught in machines. It also features multiple contact monitoring functions. Without safety fences, it realizes cooperation between humans and robots.
*Acquire ISO13849-1・ISO10218-1・ISO/TS15066
③ Suitable for diverse workplaces
Particularly, the hollow wrist structure does not require any wiring and piping outside the robot unit. Thus, it reduces the risk of interference with peripheral equipment. Also, it is equipped with a dust-proof/splash-proof function (equivalent to IP67) as standard and can work even in environments where dust and water droplets are scattered.
Specifically, the 66kg new robot model has a maximum payload capacity of 12kg and maximum reach of 1,214mm*.
*Acquire Max. reach when carrying 12kg, 1,000mm.
Nachi-Fujikoshi will release the new robot this month and targets sales of 2,400 units/year.
