Tokyo Electron has completed the construction of a new development building for its manufacturing and development subsidiary, Tokyo Electron Kyushu in Koshi-shi, Kumamoto. The company held a completion ceremony on Wednesday (Oct. 15) for the ¥47 billion (US$312 million) facility.
As the transition to a digital society accelerates, technological innovation will spur significant growth in the semiconductor market. Tokyo Electron Kyushu develops and manufactures coater/developers, cleaning systems, and advanced 3D packaging equipment including wafer bonders. These product segments are critical in enabling ultra-high speeds, large capacities, high reliability, and power efficiency in semiconductor devices. Therefore, these segments will experience significant growth in the future by driving innovation in two key directions: finer scaling and higher integration.
The Process Development Building will serve as the hub for next-generation development activities prioritizing safety, quality, and the environment, as well as advanced and highly efficient development operations leveraging digital technologies. By enhancing the timely delivery of the high value-added, high-quality products that customers need, TEL will contribute to the sustainable medium- to long-term corporate growth and the progress of society.
In keeping with the motto of Best Products and Best Technical Service, TEL will work with our customers to pursue semiconductor technology innovations that are essential to achieving both digitalization and decarbonization.
