Murata Manufacturing Co., Ltd. has announced plans to invest approximately ¥6.2 billion in the construction of a new production building at its manufacturing subsidiary, Murata Electronics (Thailand), Ltd., to expand output of EMI suppression filters.

The project is scheduled to begin in September 2026, with completion targeted for November 2027. The investment includes both the building and production facilities and is designed to support growing market demand for EMI suppression filters used across a wide range of electronic products.

Responding to Rising Demand

According to Murata, the new facility will strengthen its manufacturing system for EMI suppression filters in Thailand. These components play an important role in reducing electromagnetic interference generated and transmitted by electronic devices, helping ensure stable performance and reliability.

EMI suppression filters are widely used in products such as smartphones, computers and industrial equipment. As electronic systems become more sophisticated and interconnected, demand for reliable noise-suppression technologies continues to increase across multiple industries.

Murata stated that the investment is aimed at enhancing production capacity and supporting a stable supply of products for customers worldwide.

The investment will strengthen Murata’s production system for EMI suppression filters in Thailand. Murata will continue to develop its production and supply systems to ensure a stable supply of products going forward.

New Facility Details

The planned building will be a four-story steel-frame structure with a total floor area of 10,797 square meters and a building area of 2,834 square meters.

The facility will be dedicated to the manufacture of EMI suppression filters, further reinforcing Thailand’s role within Murata’s global manufacturing network.

The company expects the project to increase operational flexibility while supporting long-term growth in demand for electronic components used in consumer electronics, computing systems and industrial applications.

Thailand Remains a Strategic Manufacturing Hub

Murata Electronics (Thailand), Ltd., located in the Northern Region Industrial Estate in Lamphun, has been operating since 1988. The subsidiary manufactures capacitors, EMI suppression filters and other electronic components.

As of July 2026, the company employed approximately 7,000 people and operated with capital of 6.61 billion baht.

The latest investment highlights Murata’s continued focus on strengthening production capacity in strategic locations and reinforcing supply chain resilience for key electronic components serving global markets.
