Yamaha Motor Sets up New Singapore Base for Robotics Business

Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. established a new robotics sales and services company in Singapore. The new company will be responsible for expanding its business in Southeast Asia and India where demand for robots is growing. Yamaha Motor allocated 200 million yen (US$1.52 million) for the establishment of the new company, which is scheduled to open in July 2023.

The new company in Singapore aims to expand robotics sales in Southeast Asia and India.

Yamaha conducts manufacturer-driven cross-selling in the surface mounter and industrial robot fields. With this strategy, it intends to secure new clients in Southeast Asia and India. Additionally, it targets to provide high-quality after-sales services in line with international standards. Moreover, the company will strengthen its distributor support system while working to expand its distributor network.

The new company, Yamaha Robotics Solutions Asia Pte. Ltd., completed its registration on January 13, 2023. Going forward, the company will prepare the new office and equipment to start operations in July this year. Yamaha’s clients, distributors, and reach of competitors’ headquarters intersect in Singapore. Thus, with the new office, it aims to acquire major global accounts and clients that are shifting their production bases to Southeast Asia and India.

Specifically, Yamaha’s robotics business is a Strategic Business Field in its Medium-Term Management Plan. Based on the One-Stop Smart Solution concept, Yamaha builds frameworks enabling the prompt provision of sophisticated, all-inclusive solutions as it aims for further business expansion.
