Japan Unix Revs up Global Business With New Pitch

Japan Unix Co., Ltd. has been accelerating its global business promoting soldering robots as its mainstay products.  In Mexico, the company established its Monterrey Office, its second base in Mexico.  Particularly, the company also exhibits its products at overseas mounting-related trade shows successively.

As a specialized manufacturer of soldering systems, Japan Unix focuses on soldering robots as its mainstay products. Moreover, the company has sales bases in Shanghai and Shenzhen in China, Seoul in Korea, Taipei in Taiwan, Mexico, New Jersey in North America, and Gurugram in India.  The company deploys its business globally.

New Office in Mexico

Recently, Japan Unix opened an office in Monterrey following one in Guadalajara. Kentaro Kono, General Manager, Japan Unix Co., Ltd. said, “Monterrey’s location is close to the United States border. Like in Guadalajara, Monterrey serves as host to many foreign automotive-related companies, such as electric components manufacturers. We have established the Monterrey Office aiming to enhance services to Japanese manufacturers and manufacturers of on-board printed circuit boards.  We plan to hire additional personnel and increase sales.” In addition, Kono is hopeful about the company’s business in Mexico.

Bullish in China Demand

Kono said the Chinese economy has slowed down, which is affecting Japanese manufacturers. In addition, he said, “China’s manufacturing industry is confronting a tough situation with investments in plants and equipment stagnating.  At the same time, the export environment has become severe. Also, from the viewpoint of a business continuity plan (BCP), manufacturers are distributing their concentrated production activities to Southeast Asia and countries in Europe. Meanwhile, China’s domestic demand is expected to increase down the road.  We would like to promote globalization while closely watching various moves.”

On the product front, Japan Unix has developed Area Laser, a laser irradiation technology for soldering robots. The company commercialized Dual Area Laser Soldering System by applying laser irradiation technology.  Furthermore, the Dual Area Laser Soldering System is receiving favorable evaluations from the market.

Japan Unix further developed its laser irradiation technology and adopted it in the Dual Area Laser Soldering System.  The laser soldering system enables simultaneous soldering of two points in a square measuring 2×2mm.

Moreover, it can irradiate a laser from both upper and lower surfaces. As the laser soldering system locally heats the area laser irradiation range instead of heating the entire substrate, it reduces the thermal load on products. It has a laser output power of 130W. Adopting an air-cooled laser eliminates the need for large-scale maintenance. Comparatively, a reflow oven requires a smaller installation area. It also contributes to carbon neutrality as it emits less amount of carbon dioxide (CO2).

Presently, Japan Unix is marketing the Dual Area Laser Soldering System mainly in Japan.  Moving forward, the company will consider deployment to overseas markets as well.
