TRUMPF Expands India Presence, Sets up New Facility

The high-technology company TRUMPF is expanding in India and building a new production facility. Particularly, the new factory will rise in Pune in the state of Maharashtra in western India.

Till Kueppers, Chief Operating Officer at TRUMPF Machine Tools Germany, said India is developing strongly and has growth potential. Thus, Kueppers said, “The proximity to this emerging market allows us to produce more efficiently and respond more quickly to the needs of our customers there.”

In addition, the new location offers TRUMPF the opportunity to take advantage of global synergies. “In the long term, we want to supply additional markets from India and expand our supply chain.”

TRUMPF is investing around €5 million in the new production facility. In addition, production will begin this year. The aim is to produce 300 machines there every year.

Bending, cutting machines made in India

“This investment is the first step in our long-term growth strategy in India. Our customers benefit from high-quality products, we are closer to them and can better adapt to their needs,” says Pradeep Patil, Managing Director of TRUMPF in India.

Moreover, the plant will start with TruBend 1000 series bending machines, followed by the TruLaser 1000 laser cutting machine series by 2025.

On the other hand, Mohammed Hidayath, Director Sales at TRUMPF in India, said, “Together with the local talents, we will ensure TRUMPF quality on site. This unique value proposition is a great contribution to the sheet metal processing industry.”

Moreover, TRUMPF is also expanding its support infrastructure with a showroom in Bengaluru. The site will go into operation later this year. This aims to strengthen the service for customers.

Finally, with a software research and development facility in Chennai, TRUMPF is also able to offer customers comprehensive IT solutions.
