Epson to Soar Capacity With First Inkjet Line in India

Seiko Epson Corporation has opened a manufacturing facility for Epson’s first high-capacity ink tank inkjet printers in India. Specifically, it is within the factory of its partner, RIKUN Manufacturing Pvt. Ltd. (headquarters: Chennai, India). Mass production scheduled to begin in October 2025.

Compared to traditional printers with ink cartridges, these printers offer a lower ink cost per milliliter and easier ink replacement, making them both more economical and more convenient for users. Less frequent ink replacement also means reduced consumables consumption and waste, helping to mitigate environmental impact. High-capacity ink tank printers are widely used for various everyday printing tasks, and between their 2010 launch and September 2024, over 100 million units have been sold worldwide, including more than 8 million units in India.

This new manufacturing facility is part of Epson’s broader efforts to localize production and cater to demand in India. Collaboration with local partners also serves to lay a foundation for building trust with the community. India is experiencing significant economic growth and has a wealth of human resources, making it a key region in Epson’s global strategy.

Epson will continue to co-create with local communities and pursue unique value that only Epson can offer.
