Siemens, GF to Make More Reliable Chips based on AI

Siemens and GlobalFoundries have agreed to leverage each other’s capabilities based on artificial intelligence to boost semiconductor manufacturing and other advanced industries. Therefore, making operations more efficient, secure, and reliable.

The two companies will focus on automation technologies for semiconductor fabrication, electrification, digital solutions, and software from chip development to product lifecycle management.

Enable Reliable, Efficiently-Produced Chips

Recently, there have been unprecedented demand for essential semiconductors and autonomous platforms in critical areas such as artificial intelligence, defense, energy, and connectivity. The team up of Siemens and GF can support accelerated growth, better security, and reliability and broaden their impact across industry.

The two companies agree to deploy advanced AI-enabled software, sensors, and real-time control systems in fab automation. Thus, meeting the growing demand for reliable semiconductors and autonomous platforms.

The partnership will enable centralized automation and predictive maintenance, thereby ensuring equipment availability and operational efficiency in chip production. Specifically, the companies will develop and deploy new solutions in their respective operations to deliver enhanced offerings.

Siemens brings a comprehensive suite of industrial, energy and building automation and digitalization technologies, including advanced software, for chip design and manufacturing and fab automation. On the other hand, GF brings unique process technology and design capabilities to accelerate the development and manufacturing of tailored solutions.
