NEPCON Asia 2023 will be held at Shenzhen World Exhibition ＆Convention Center in Shenzhen, China from October 11 to 13.  Accordingly, the exhibition will be held for the first time in two years amid the onslaught of the COVID-19 pandemic. Last year, organizers also canceled the event because of the rising cases.

Shift from Recovery to Expansion

NEPCON Asia is a large-scale tech trade show of the Chinese surface mount technology (SMT) industry comparable in size to NEPCON China (Shanghai). RX China organizes both events. 

This year, China’s SMT industry saw demand after SMT equipment stagnated. Nonetheless, NEPCON China 2023 held in Shanghai in July drew about 35,000 visitors during the three-day event. Through the exhibition, demand will shift from recovery to expansion. 

NEPCON Asia is an international event that draws 600 exhibiting companies from about 40 countries and regions. The organizer expects that the three-day event will attract 45,000 visitors. 

From Japan, mounter manufacturers will participate in the event through their Chinese local subsidiaries and distributors. They will showcase high-speed machines and SMT equipment that realizes digital manufacturing. Meanwhile, the show floors will also concurrently hold the 2023 IC Packaging Fair will also be held concurrently. 

Electronics companies concentrate in South China, which includes Dongguan and Guangzhou, as well as Shenzhen where the trade fair is taking place. Most importantly, the automotive industry is also thriving in the said city. Thus, Japanese automobile manufacturers have also branched out. Also, China’s leading companies are producing lithium-ion batteries and liquid crystal panels in South China.
