NIDEC Subsidiaries Start New Plants in Vietnam, India

Nidec Corporation’s subsidiary companies have recently embarked on facility expansions in India and Vietnam to meet market demand. Accordingly, the construction of these new facilities has already been concluded, and have likewise started their respective operations.

Serves Demand of Vietnam Market

Nidec Advance Technology Corporation established in March 2023 its Vietnam subsidiary, Nidec Advance Technology (Vietnam) Corporation, a subsidiary of Nidec Advance Technology Corporation. Located in Thang Long Industrial Park, Vinh Phuoc Province, Vietnam, and began operations in June. The construction of the plant’s interior and the delivery of its critical equipment have already concluded. Thus, it has now commenced its manufacturing operations.

In recent years, investment in production facilities for cutting-edge semiconductor packages has been increasing in Southeast Asia. Moreover, there is a need for the group’s inspection equipment and jigs have grown dramatically.

In addition, Nidec sees the new facility in the suburbs of Hanoi will serve well its key customers in the area. Particularly, by building a system capable of manufacturing and assembling our inspection jigs and providing technical support.

The Vietnam subsidiary, which stands on a 2,017sq.m floor area, will manufacture, sell, and repair of inspection jigs. In addition, it will also do maintenance and repair of inspection equipment.

Expands Reach in India

Meanwhile, Nidec India Private Limited (Nidec India), a wholly owned subsidiary of Nidec Corporation, has held an opening ceremony for the new building of its existing factory in Neemrana, Rajasthan, in India.

Nidec India’s existing factory produces automotive, appliance, commercial, and industrial motors. On the other hand, its new second building will manufacture drive motors for electric bikes (e-bikes) with an output of 30kW or less.

The global sales of electric two-wheel vehicles, including e-bikes with pedals, will likely grow from 2.6 million units in 2020 to 13 million units in 2030. Accordingly, Nidec Group targets to generate sales of ¥100 billion in two-wheel electric vehicle-related businesses in the fiscal year ending March 31, 2026. Moreover, it plans to manufacture 90,000 e-bike motors per month at the second building of Nidec India’s second factory.

Nidec India’s Neemrana Factory

Located 120km southwest of New Delhi, Nidec’s Neemrana facility has a total floor area of 24,523sq.m. Moreover, its full operations will employ 1,100 people.
