TDK-Lambda Soars as All Sites Now Use Renewable Energy

TDK Corporation has announced that 100% of the electricity used in all manufacturing sites in TDK-Lambda Corporation is from renewable sources. Accordingly, the company has made this possible since January 2024.

Under the TDK Environmental Vision 2035, TDK-Lambda started using renewable energy from its electricity needs in July 2021. Specifically, at its Nagaoka Technical Center in Nagaoka City in Japan’s Niigata.

Since then, TDK-Lambda has been aiming to switch to renewable energy at all its global manufacturing sites as well.

Sustainable Manufacturing

Recently, TDK-Lambda’s two sites in Senai and Kuantan in Malaysia have signed contracts to purchase renewable energy electricity certificates in March 2024. All of TDK-Lambda’s global manufacturing sites have begun operating on electricity derived from 100% renewable energy sources.

TDK-Lambda Group will continue to develop compact and highly efficient switching power supplies that directly contribute to the stable supply and effective use of renewable energy. At the same time, while promoting the reduction of CO₂ emissions through effective use of energy in production activities. Hence, a sustainable society.

Moreover, the entire TDK Group will continue introducing renewable energy at its manufacturing sites worldwide. It will contribute to the realization of a sustainable society by aiming to convert 100% of energy use to renewable energy by 2050. World Leader in Electronics Solutions

TDK-Lambda is the only power supply maker that has access to ferrite used in the transformer of power supplies, and important constituent parts. This includes inductors and capacitors, within its Group. Thus, this enables us to develop power supply products from the level of materials and components. In addition, TDK-Lambda develops innovative power supplies by utilizing core technologies nurtured so far, such as circuit design technology and thermal/electromagnetic field evaluation and simulation technology.

The Japan-headquartered TDK Corporation is a world leader in electronic solutions for the smart society. Built on a foundation of material sciences mastery, TDK welcomes societal transformation by resolutely remaining at the forefront of technological evolution and deliberately “Attracting Tomorrow.”

TDK’s portfolio features passive components such as ceramic, aluminum electrolytic and film capacitors. Also, magnetics, high-frequency, and piezo and protection devices. In addition, the product spectrum also includes sensors and sensor systems such as temperature and pressure, magnetic, and MEMS sensors. In addition, TDK provides power supplies and energy devices, magnetic heads and more.

The company markets these products under the product brands TDK, EPCOS, InvenSense, Micronas, Tronics and TDK-Lambda.
