Mitsubishi Electric Automation Releases Servo, Motion Economy Solutions

Mitsubishi Electric Automation, Inc. has introduced Economy Solutions, packaged servo and motion bundles that allow for high-precision motion control in a way that is quick and affordable to integrate.

Packaged solutions allow OEMs and system integrators to build budget-friendly machines with advanced motion control and internet of things (IoT) technology.

Servo and motion control systems are available in bundle offerings.

Bundle Offerings

Today, the company offers three different bundles – compact motion, basic motion, and pulse motion. Compact motion delivers premium performance and is available in up to 7.0kW. It offers up to eight axes of synchronized motion per module. This bundle operates on the new CC-Link IE Time-Sensitive Network (TSN), allowing for improved communications speed.

Meanwhile, basic motion is the most affordable option. It uses the integrated networking of the iQ-F compact programmable logic controller (PLC) to control servo amplifiers and motors at a very low cost. It operates over the CC-Link IE Field Basic network and allows the integration of other IE Field Basic compatible devices. Specifically, this bundle is best suited for small systems and supports up to 16 stations.

Lastly, pulse motion allows for easy integration with third-party PLCs. It operates over pulse train communication, which makes it able to communicate with almost any PLC. Also suited for smaller systems, it does not require a motion module.

All three options provide the following benefits. First, they remove guesswork from selecting parts. Second, they ensure guaranteed compatibility between components. Third, they create sample programs to help customers get up to speed faster. Lastly, they are flexible and configurable to meet exact requirements.

“This is our first step towards building our portfolio of solutions to improve customer experience,” said Curtis Sylliaasen, associate product manager at Mitsubishi Electric Automation. ‘”By offering pre-configured options, we will be able to target specific customer pain points with solutions that can be customized to each individual project.”
