Augmenting its lineup of the MOTOMAN-PL Series palletizing robots, Yaskawa Electric Corporation has released the MOTOMAN-PL80 model with a payload capacity of 80kg and a maximum reach of 2,061mm.
With the addition of the new model, the MOTOMAN-PL Series now comes in five variation, covering payload capacities of 80kg, 190kg, 320kg, 500kg, and 800kg. The MOTOMAN-PL80 robot best suits palletizing of relatively light products and features ease of use, improved operation speed, and higher allowable load for the wrist shaft compared with its predecessor, MOTOMAN-MPL80Ⅱ.
Operating speed of each axis has been improved more than 5 percent compared to that of MOTOMAN-MPL80Ⅱ, leading to shorter operation time. The stronger wrist shaft has increased allowable load to four times that of MOTOMAN-MPL80Ⅱ, whereby the range of usable hand work shapes has expanded.
The YRC1000 general-purpose robot controller for medium- to large-size models is equipped with a power regenerating function for the effective use of energy generated by the deceleration of the motor. This function reduces the robot’s power consumption by about 20 percent. The robot and the controller can be connected by a single cable, thereby significantly reducing wiring time during setup, and a neat-looking equipment with less wiring can be achieved.
MOTOPAL application software dedicated for palletizing automatically generates the robot’s operation program.
