Yokogawa Test & Measurement Corporation announces the release of the DLM3000HD series of compact, high-definition oscilloscopes.
Accordingly, the company positions the product as a high-performance version of the DLM3000 series. Thus, the DLM3000HD series expands Yokogawa’s oscilloscope lineup with 500MHz and 350MHz frequency bandwidth models. They deliver higher resolution for more accurate waveform analysis, and come with features that improve usability and enable easier setup.
Yokogawa released the DLM2000 series of compact four-channel mixed signal oscilloscopes in 2008. Meanwhile, it released its successor, the DLM3000 series, in 2018. Both have proven their popularity for general use with developers of electronic and mechatronic devices.
However, there has been growing emphasis in recent years on measures that will help to decarbonize society. Thus, there is a need to increase the energy efficiency of motors and inverters. Specifically, those suit the transportation sector and clean energy-related products such as solar power generation devices. This need is particularly acute in the power electronics industry. Specifically, the increase in applications for next-generation power devices utilizing silicon-carbide (SiC) technology is driving measurement precision. With its support of multi-channel measurement and its improved resolution on the vertical axis, the DLM3000HD series meets these needs.
The DLM3000HD series consists of two models: the 500 MHz DLM3054HD and 350 MHz DLM3034HD.
16 times higher vertical resolution
The DLM3000HD series offers 12-bit vertical resolution that is 16 times higher than that of the existing DLM3000 series for greater accuracy in waveform observation. This is particularly beneficial for developers of next-generation inverters, enabling the accurate observation of minute changes in high-speed signals, such as during switching. This allows the detection of phenomena that can cause unexpected anomalies, including waveform overshoot and ringing.
Enhanced serial bus analysis auto-setup function
Another useful feature of the DLM3000HD series is the time-saving serial bus analysis auto-setup function. It automatically sets the optimal bit rate and threshold level, can now also be used with previously captured waveforms. For that reason, it is possible to use the auto-setup for low-frequency signals. Thus, improving the efficiency of in-vehicle bus development and evaluation work.
Improved analysis efficiency
The DLM3000HD series can store up to 1 billion points of acquired data, which is twice that of the DLM3000 series. This allows users to store history data on up to 200,000 captured waveforms as history waveforms*. In addition, it is possible to search and compare the doubling the number of waveforms. This means a single device can measure the behavior of braking systems and other apparatuses. Thus, improving the efficiency of evaluation and analysis work.
Also, measurements can be captured with up to 8 analog channels by using the dual-unit synchronous measurement (DLMsync) function to operate two units. This allows the simultaneous measurement of both analog and logic signals to, for example, analyze numerous power-on sequences while debugging an electronic control unit.
