ADI Expands Thailand Plant to Boost Supply Chain

Analog Devices, Inc. (ADI) has officially opened its new advanced manufacturing facility in Thailand, marking a significant expansion of its global backend operations. The upgraded site is designed to strengthen supply chain resilience and meet surging demand across the industrial, automotive, and digital healthcare sectors.

Scaling Backend Capacity

The facility, operated by Analog Devices Thailand (ADTH), has served as a primary hub for the company since 2000. This latest expansion adds substantial cleanroom space and production capacity, allowing ADI to scale its most critical backend processes. These include wafer-level processing, chip-scale packaging, and final IC testing.

By integrating advanced automation and intelligent manufacturing technologies, the site aims to improve precision and operational efficiency. For B2B customers in the United States and Asia, this translates to faster response times and a more reliable flow of components in an often-volatile global market.

A Strategy of Geographic Diversification

The move is a cornerstone of ADI’s “hybrid manufacturing model,” which balances internal factory strength with external foundry and OSAT partnerships. By doubling down on its Thai operations, ADI is diversifying its geographic footprint to mitigate risks associated with regional supply chain disruptions.

“Thailand is one of the strategic hubs of ADI’s global manufacturing footprint,” said Vincent Roche, CEO and Chair at ADI. He noted that the expansion reinforces the company’s ability to deliver world-class technology sustainably and reliably to a global client base.

Sustainable Manufacturing

Setting a new benchmark for the electronics industry, the Thailand facility is the first in ADI’s network built to achieve LEED Platinum certification. The site utilizes 100 percent renewable electricity and features advanced water recycling systems alongside real-time environmental monitoring. Notably, ADTH is the first semiconductor manufacturer in Thailand to implement low-carbon liquid nitrogen, significantly reducing the carbon intensity of its testing operations.
