Rockwell to Expand Presence in India With New Facility

Rockwell Automation has announced plans to open a new manufacturing facility in Chennai, India.

Accordingly, the 98,000sq.ft facility will help Rockwell build a more resilient, agile, and sustainable supply chain in Asia and around the globe.

Expanding Asia Presence

India has the world’s fifth-biggest and fastest-growing large economy. Moreover, the country’s economic policies will continue to have a significant impact on the global economy. Particularly, in the areas of trade, investment, and innovation.

For that reason, Rockwell is investing in India by expanding its manufacturing presence and building a new factory in Chennai. The facility will rise in the same industrial park as Rockwell’s CUBIC manufacturing facility. Thus, helping maximize supply chain resilience and create additional career opportunities for employees.

“We selected this location because we can create synergies with our existing CUBIC facility and increase agility and productivity in the region,” said Dilip Sawhney, Managing Director – India, Rockwell Automation.

In addition, Sawhney said he is looking forward to how the new factory will expand further its presence in India. At the same time, it optimizes its manufacturing on a global scale, and enhances the future of industrial operations in the growing market.

Rockwell expects the facility in Chennai to open in the first half of 2025. Moreover, it aims to employ about 230 workers by the end of the year.
