Danfoss to Surge Capacity With New Regional Site

Danfoss, the global industrial Danish-based group, is further strengthening its commitment to be a strong partner for its customers in Mexico and the Americas. This as the company unveiled its new production in the region.

With its new production facilities for scroll and reciprocating compressors, sensors, and heat exchangers, the group responds to fast-growing market trend. Specifically, in the energy efficiency in cooling, electrification of heating, and the refrigerant transition.

The expansion of the current production site by 40,000sq.m is part of the Danfoss Monterrey Campus.

The Monterrey expansion project will deliver an estimated annual production capacity of 100,000 compressor units used in HVAC applications. In addition, it will also deliver 1.6 million pressure sensors and A2L leak detection sensors for flammable refrigerants. Most importantly, these products will support the refrigerant transition and doubling our capacity for microchannel heat exchangers.

Respond to Strong Market Needs

Kim Fausing, President and CEO, Danfoss, said: “With the growth potential in Mexico, I am delighted to be in Monterrey to open our production facilities. It will enable us to service our customers even better going forward.”

In addition, Fausing said the expansion of the new production facilities aims to respond to strong market trends. These include energy efficiency in cooling, electrification of heating, and the refrigerant transition, and we are excited to be part of the development.”

The visit also coincided with the opening of a new Oxxo convenience store on the Danfoss Campus in Monterrey. The new store comes equipped with Danfoss’ most advanced food retail technologies such as intelligent performance monitoring and control solutions. Most importantly, the new store also as a demonstration site for other customers and partners to experience energy efficiency technologies hands-on.

Oxxo is the largest convenience store chain in Mexico and Latin America with more than 22,000 stores, pursuing a dedicated energy efficiency program. This helps them to save significant amounts of electricity in their stores.

Reducing Emissions

Danfoss Mexico operations began in 1995. Presently, Danfoss has production facilities in Monterrey, Reynosa, and Querétaro with 3,200 employees.

Julio Molinari, Regional President, Danfoss Latin America, said: “Mexico has great growth potential for Danfoss. Our new investments support an important and thriving local HVAC industry and a food chain sector. (These industries) are continuously looking to advance energy efficiency across the entire chain. Our investments in Monterrey are precisely oriented to strengthen our position in these markets.”

Danfoss engineers solutions that increase machine productivity and reduce emissions. In addition, they also help in lowering energy consumption and enable electrification.

“Our solutions are used in such areas as refrigeration, air conditioning, heating, power conversion, motor control, industrial machinery, automotive, marine, and off- and on-highway equipment,” the company said in a statement.

Furthermore, Danfoss also provide solutions for renewable energy, such as solar and wind power, as well as district-energy infrastructure for cities. Danfoss is family- and foundation-owned, employing more than 42,000 people. Thus, serving customers in more than 100 countries through a global footprint of 95 factories.
