Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. said it will expand and renovate its office buildings in the Toyooka-cho area in Kita-ku, Hamamatsu City, in Japan’s Shizuoka Prefecture. Accordingly, the plan included the expansion of Hamamatsu Robotics office, which manufactures and sells surface mounters and industrial robots.
Renovation and expansion of the facility will start in January 2023 and completion date is in June 2024.
As a result, the expansion will bring the total floor area of the office buildings to increase to 1.6 times of the current 82,000sq.m. In addition, the production area will also increase by 1.8 times.
Likewise, Yamaha Motor’s expansion effort will also double the production capacity of surface mounters. Expanding the development area will also bring improvements to evaluation sites and laboratories. Hence, this will promote steadier product development.
In addition, the company envisions to realize next-generation offices by creating smart showrooms that support carbon neutrality. The project will strengthen manufacturing, sales, technology, and service systems in the new environment.
Reinforcing the base through this expansion and renovation is part of the company’s strategic investment under its new medium-term plan (2022 to 2024).
Yamaha Motor will further enhance its customer-oriented systems for technology, sales, and services. These are the core strengths of its robotics business that will reinforce profitability and business area in a growing market.
