Taiwanese conglomerate Delta Electronics, Inc. has acquired Japan’s Noda RF Technologies (NRF) for approximately ¥5.024 billion (approx. US$33 million) through its subsidiary Delta Electronics (Netherlands) B.V. The move increased Delta’s stake at NRF to 100 percent from the previous 10 percent.
NRF provides RF power supply systems for core semiconductor manufacturing processes.
Ping Cheng, Delta’s Chairman and CEO, said, the NRF buyout will complement Delta’s technology. “We believe that with NRF, Delta will be able to reinforce its solutions portfolio and create greater synergies in R&D, business opportunities, and support to global semiconductor equipment customers.”

RF power supply systems play vital role in semiconductor manufacturing quality, chip yield, and precision. Thus, the transaction will boost Delta’s comprehensive power solutions for key semiconductor manufacturing equipment providers.
The RF systems are applied in semiconductor processes such as etching, chemical vapor deposition (CVD), and physical vapor deposition (PVD).
Moreover, NRF’s R&D products are critical to wafer yield and process precision. Beyond the semiconductor sector, NRF’s solutions extend to other industries including LCD panel manufacturing.
Established in 2002 and is headquartered in Osaka, Japan, NRF specialization in RF system has enabled them to earn good reputation in the sector.
Kazutoshi Noda, CEO of Noda RF Technologies Co., Ltd., said, the company remains committed in advancing RF systems. In fact, joining Delta, Noda said, will enable them to leverage Delta’s global footprint, manufacturing capabilities, as well as business strengths for greater value for semiconductor applications.
“Our products play an indispensable role in semiconductor equipment and driving industrial digitalization. With our outstanding R&D capabilities and engineering support, NRF has long served frontline customers in Japan and earned high acclaim.”
