Growing Demand for Factory Automation

In China, economic activities have been stagnant due to the effects of COVID-19. However, demand for factory automation at production sites has been increasing. Mainly, this resulted from labor shortages caused by the low birth rate and aging population, rising labor costs, and risk of the COVID-19 spreading. Also, in line with China’s domestic growth strategy, demand is expected to expand in a wide range of fields. Among them are fields related to electric vehicle, 5G, and environment infrastructure investments designed to reduce carbon neutrality as well as semiconductors and general industrial markets.

Meet Needs of Yaskawa’s Plants in China

The new plant was designed to supply major components, such as mounting boards and electronic units for Yaskawa Group’s production bases in China. This policy aims to strengthen the supply chain in China. Further, Yaskawa aims to accelerate improvements in productivity and quality by building a production system that implements the i³-Mechatronics solution concept.

In addition, the company plans to expand production models to further strengthen capability to respond to customer needs. Moreover, it continues to enhance the proposal capabilities of i³-Mechatronics. This way, the company can improve customer satisfaction and contribute to the growth and development of the Chinese economy.
